To achieve the same original G-SHOCK shock-resistant structure in a full-metal timepiece, buffering components made of fine resin are inserted between the stainless-steel bezel and case. And dimpling is applied to metal band pieces to reproduce the look of the very first G-SHOCK resin band design. The stainless-steel case of the GMW-B5000BT features the same screw-lock construction as the original to ensure a tight seal. And the fact that the watch is crafted at Yamagata Casio, the "mother factory" where the first ever G-SHOCK was made, brings the whole design full circle.
