Few personalities in Islamic history are as widely revered, respected, and loved as Imam Bukhari. But while his name is well known because of his work Sahih Bukhari, his personal story is not. Imam Bukhari was born in Bukhara, in modern-day Uzbekistan. He was blind at birth but miraculously gained his sight back. He was a polymath with a photographic memory. Bukhari was born in the golden age of Hadith sciences during the Abbasid Caliphate in the 8th Century and authored the most authentic collection of Hadith in a book entitled Sahih al-Bukhari, for which he is most famously known.
