The Cloud

The Cloud book is a hypothetical project for the city of Dubai presented in the form of a trip from Beirut to Dubai. The book presents the Cloud through a conceptual narrative whose protagonist explores the city with an essentially critical eye, then encounters the sublimation of a dream for the city. An antithesis to the sum of skyscrapers spreading over the entire region, the Cloud is a dream suspended between reality and artificiality. This landscape-in-the sky comprises a lake, gardens, rotating bridges, spiraling walkways and terraces, an auditorium and sky-sports platform. A visionary design which will necessitate significantly creative technological solutions, the Cloud has the potential to become a landmark for the public realm and a symbol for city of Dubai.
