Since such a period is inevitably a period of chaos, it is not easy to predict now what will result from it in the future. The question is: On what basic ideas will societies be built? We still don't know that yet. But what we can well foresee, is that, as far as its organization is concerned, it will have to reckon with a new power, the last ruling supremacy of the modern age: the power and might of the masses. On the ruins of many ideas, which were once considered correct, and which died today, and on the ruins of many regimes that were overthrown by revolutions successively, were the others. At a time when all our old beliefs were shaken and crumbled. At a time when the old pillars of societies were crumbling one by one, the power of the masses was the only unthreatening force, and whose prestige was ever increasing, the age we are now interested in entering will really be the age of the masses.
