The weekly meetings at Columbia University's Motivation Science Center have always been fun as well as educational, and it's not just because of our research that why people do what they do is more fun to think about than, say, progress in Actuarial accounting. Our underground meeting room is stacked with benches surrounding a long table often covered with papers, drinks and snacks. Our blackboards are full of poorly drawn graphs and charts (some of which we've been talking about for months). Each week, Brave presents her work to the rest of the group to answer tough questions and receive feedback... sometimes compliment, other times critical, and often humorous.
